a new plan

my body is allowing me to do a lot of planning and not a lot of doing. our chairs came in from target. thanks a million mom and dad for our wonderful james' birthday and our early christmas presents. james wants the entire dining room spotless before he assembles anything. i'm a little worried these chairs will be like our new kitchen faucet - decorating the floor still in the box for months after purchase.

anyways....i've been selling off old diapers i don't like or baby gear and have been exposed to a whole new world of green. i cd (cloth diaper) to save us money, to help the environment, and because the dipes are darn cute. if the environment plays a role at all in that choice, why not spread it around the house? i used white flannel wipes my mom cut from a sheet with phoebe for diaper changes. i met a woman in madison who simply had a small stack of wipes on her changer with a spray bottle of solution. i had tried premixing solution for a bunch of wipes last time and had mold issues. this time around, i'll try the dry storage and spray bottle. i purchased these off ds (diaperswappers) today.

i've come up with a plan for family cloth. i've got a couple goals and a few supplies i want to purchase . this will be a slow move and some changes might not stick.

kitchen:
no more paper towels. we'll use unpaper towels like these from etsy.no more napkins either, but we already own some cloth ones.

no more snack bags . we'll use reuseable baggies like this.

no more plastic at the store. i currently have two custom made bags i purchased off etsy and a few other green bags, but i'd like at least two more so they can stay in each of our cars.

the dirty/wet unpaper towels will go in a wetbag like this one that will hang on the stove.

no more produce bags either.

bathroom:
this will be a weird transition, but if i am scraping poop off diapers and using cloth wipes with the kids, why should any tp be used to wipe pee? i plan on having two baskets or one basket and one mini wetbag in the bathroom with 'family' wipes. at the very least, phoebe and i will use to wipe pee. this will save tp the majority of bathroom visits.

like i said, this is currently a plan. i need to first get the house in 100% working order and fully switch over all the rooms we have in process. i have a nice list of 'wants', but there's no need to buy just yet.

and here's just a cute picture of phoebe. she was watching yo gabba gabba this morning in our bed and saw the camera on the desk and asked for a picture. can you tell her new picture face includes scrunching up her nose?
health update on me - the pain is there. it's friggin constant. i have an appointment tomorrow (holy heck, i guess today) with my new doc, dr. mallory, who will deliver walter. i'll have her check out the 'kidney' issue along with testing my glucose. i saw my chiro, dr. lewis, today. he was amazing. he did some work on the trigger point (????) near the spot and the pain went away for a short while. and i can't drive while taking the crappy meds that aren't relieving the pain, so nick and miss phoebes will escort me to madison tomorrow.
